5 Ways to Unwind During the Fall Season
Recently on Instagram, I was talking about how hectic life has been for me and how I’ve been trying to enjoy each day as it passes. Easier said than done right? I’m a full time student in school, have a job, working on Blogtober and I try to have a bit of a life! Life can be so chaotic at times. Add in holiday events and parties and you’ll be on a tight schedule! For Blogtober Day Eighteen, I’m going to talk about 5 ways to unwind and relax during the fall season.
Earlier in the month, I wrote a post all about practicing self care. I feel that mental health is something that more people need to take care of and talk about. It isn’t talked about nearly as enough as it should be. It’s easy to eat right and exercise, but when it comes to taking care of your mental health, it can get stuck on the back burner. Get ready to learn some of my favorite ways to unwind during the fall season. Not only will this help decrease stress, but it will help benefit your mental health!

Read a Book
I really love reading. I read a new book every two weeks or so when I have some spare time. What’s so great about books is that they can completely transform the space around you. When you are reading a really good book and are fully emerged in it, you can just shut off the outside world and dive right in. I absolutely love “The House by the River by Lena Manta” and anything by Kristin Hannah.
Do Crafts + Hobbies
To some people, making crafts may seem like the most tedious thing in the world and not relaxing at all. I’m with you on some parts! I enjoy making woven wall art when I want to relax. It takes a lot of time, you can watch TV while you do it, and it doesn’t need to be perfect. Maybe you have a different hobby that you love to do, give yourself some time to put some work into it!
Have a Pamper Night
I love me a pamper night. This is my favorite way to unwind after a stressful week. This is when you break out the face masks, the nail polish and whatever else makes you feel good! My favorite face masks are from the Yes to Cucumbers Mud Mask and the Yes to Grapefruit Peel-off Mask. I love to throw in a hair mask while I paint my nails too!
Go For A Walk
The other day my boyfriend and I went for a walk around Portland in the evening. We’ve been so busy with work and classes that we haven’t had the chance to do that in a while. It was so great to get some fresh air and explore the city a bit more. It also made for the perfect excuse to pop into West Elm and check out their new arrivals! Getting outside is a great way to clear your head and get your body moving.
Watch Fall Movies
Put on a good fall movie. For the last week or so, my boyfriend and I have been watching a new fall movie. It’s been a great way to relax at the end of a busy day. If you want a really good fall movie, watch Hocus Pocus- it’s the best halloween movie!
