How to Find Blog Post Ideas

If you are a writer or a blogger, then you’ll know the feeling of being stumped. Just completely stuck in a rut with no idea what to write about next. You are not alone! Trust me, I have been there too! It can be hard to find a topic to write about!

Or maybe you are so overwhelmed by the numerous topic ideas, you have no idea where to start! I have also been there!

It seems to get harder the longer you are blogging too. It’s kind of crazy, because there is an almost endless list of what we could write about, yet we still get stuck. I’m going to share with you guys how I create new blog post ideas.

Before trying to search for what to write about, you should think about what type of blogger you are. Maybe you are all about DIY or parenting, fashion, lifestyle, the list goes on and on. Keep this in the back of your mind while you are looking for new ideas! It wouldn’t really make sense to write about something that doesn’t fit your niche.

So get out a pen and paper and get ready to start writing down 5 ways on how to find blog post ideas!

Go on Pinterest

I usually go on Pinterest first when I have no idea what to write next. I generally search my niche or one of them and see what other bloggers are up to. This can be a really easy way to spark an idea for you! For example, I may search college and see that other people are writing about back to school outfits or their fav backpack. This could lead to my own blog post about how I transition my summer wardrobe into my college wardrobe. Click here to check out my Pinterest page!

Look at What YOU Are Searching For

Take a second and reflect on what you are searching for. Maybe you want to look for affordable fall booties or the perfect fall coat. If you are looking for something, there is a big chance that others are looking for the same thing! Take what you find and make a blog post all about it!

Go Outside

Write from your experiences! Maybe you want to write about a local donut shop or your favorite restaurants in the city you live in. Going outside can also lead to a lot of photo opportunities too! I know that I sometimes have a hard time finding cute photo locations, so keep an eye out when you are out and about for new spots! When you find one, make sure you make a note of it so you can go back later!

Keep a List Going

I have a big spread in one of my bullet journals and I keep a huge list going for my three niches (health, lifestyle and fashion). I write down every blog post idea that I get there. That way when I have no idea what to write about, I can look at my ideas and easily come up with something from there.

Think of Holidays/Seasons

This may be the easiest way to come up with topics! Right now we are entering the Fall season so you can come up with blog post ideas relating to fall. Maybe it’s a fall bucket list, or fall jackets under $100 or DIY fall decor! From back to school in August to the holidays in December, these last months of the year can make for a ton of seasonal content!
